Meet Our Teachers
Bryan Miller
(Latin and History)
Bryan serves as the Director of the Upper School. He has an MA and MSSI, a background in teaching history, languages, and liberal arts as well as 12 years of experience in the Department of Defense in senior analytical roles. He and his wife have two children whom they homeschool.
Karen Ward
(Math, Botany, and Art)
Karen homeschooled her three children (now adults), has taught art, nature journals, algebra, geometry, and iconography in homeschool co-ops, small private schools, and group classes for adults and children. This is Karen's eighth year at St. Nicholas.
Maria Murray
(Bible and Russian)
Maria has an MA in Applied Orthodox Theology and has homeschooled her children for the past seven years. Maria was the founder of SNAC in 2017, has taught Christian Studies, Russian, Latin, and Science at St. Nicholas and now also teaches for St. Athanasius Academy.
Stephanie Olsen
(Science)
Stephanie holds Bachelor's Degrees in Education and Music. She has taught students from preschool through adults, including homeschooling her 3 children for the past 12 years and teaching at SNAC since 2021.
Liz Dickinson
(U.S. History)
Liz holds an MA in International Policy Studies and a BA in Russian and Political Science. A former intelligence analyst, she now serves as the Virginia Executive Director of a conservative political training organization. She has 7 children, ages 6 to 25, all of whom have been homeschooled from the beginning. Liz has taught Government, Geography, and History at SNAC for three years.
Kelly Mine
(Literature, Writing)
Kelly has been homeschooling and teaching in co-ops and schools for over 20 years and her passion is writing. This is her second year sharing her enthusiasm for Literature with the students at SNAC.
Adrienne Meador
(Literature, Writing)
Adrienne holds a Bachelor of Arts in both Journalism and Political Science and a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Secondary English (grades 7-12). This is Adrienne's third year teaching Literature and Writing courses at St. Nicholas Academic Community. She is the busy mother of six children, and (in her spare time) she enjoys writing curriculum for her church's Sunday School program.
